“Kaapo was born into one of the most famous Finnish musical families and played the violin for 18 years before he decided he wanted to become a photographer. To him this wasn't such a big transition as he claims "pictures are all sounds and rhythm to me". He established himself quickly as a photographer in Finland and became well known for the mood he creates in his work through lighting, a style he refers to as showing "a taste of life". His aim is to combine reality with the artificial to present a form of almost cinematic beauty, seemingly existing without his involvement. He lives and works in Helsinki and Munich.”
