BORN 1969 IN AUSTRALIA
Living in Helsinki / Finland

“I have developed my own collage technique, which has become a tool to express various moods and ideas that I am excited by. I try to create a playground that combines an intellectual approach with a dark sense of humour and a taste of surrealism. My work aims to be thought-provoking and to give people fuel for debate. I get inspiration from nature, any form of material, contemporary art, photography, faces & characters, books, magazines, medieval paintings and international folk art.

Another large part of my work is a computer drawing technique, which I have developed using Freehand and Photoshop. This is an outlet for my lighter and stylishly slicker creations. It tends to focus more on issues like relationships and sexuality seen from different individual perspectives. Here my ispiration comes from more artificial worlds, like the fashion industry, interior design and architecture, as well as various forms of animation, particularly American cartoons of the 50s and 60s.”
